A distant light
This image was captured earlier today in Kazakhstan. The streak of light in the sky is a 30 second exposure of the launch of a Soyuz rocket and capsule bound for the International Space Station with 3 new crewmembers. Russian commander Maksim Surayev, American flight engineer Gregory Wiseman, and European astronaut Alexander Gerst will spend the next 5+ months on the space station.
