Stephen Lawrence report: Theresa May orders public inquiry into police spies

Thersea May announced a public inquiry into the work of undercover police officers shortly after the publication of an independent inquiry that found Scotland Yard had spied on Stephen Lawrence's family.

Her move follows an independent inquiry into potential corruption and the role of undercover policing into the Lawrence murder inquiry has found that Scotland Yard had planted "a spy in Lawrence family camp" – whose existence was previously concealed.
