Malaysia Airlines MH370: Possible debris 'best lead we've got'

Planes were scouring the desolate southern Indian Ocean for a third day for possible parts of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, now lost for two full weeks.

A satellite spotted two large objects in the area earlier this week, raising hopes of finding the Boeing 777 that disappeared on March 8 with 239 people on board.

Australia promised its best efforts to resolve the mystery, but two days of searching the seas about 2,500 kilometres (1,550 miles) southwest of Perth have not produced any evidence.

Australia's Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss admitted that "there is a lot of ocean debris floating around the globe continuously" but said the two objects spotted by satellite remained of interest.

"Those who have done the technical analysis believe that they're of interest in relation to this disappearance and even though this is not a definite lead it is probably more solid than any other lead around the world and that's why so much effort and interest is being put into this search."
